The Love of Christ Korean Presbyterian Church was born in the fall of 1998 when the Shin Myung Presbyterian Church of Manhasset merged with the Bayside Central Presbyterian Church. The Shin Myung Congregation, which had formerly worshipped in the Christ Church (Episcopal) on Northern Boulevard and Plandome Road, joined with Bayside Central Church, a smaller congregation which had recently completed construction of their new church building.
